Colonoscopy?

I have to have a colonoscopy in a week. My doctor said to purchase a bowel cleanser from my local drugstore. Can anyone recommend a good colon cleanser that will empty my bowels? What have you taken prior to having a colonoscopy?

u need to get a bottle of magnesium citrate (at any drug store)and drink it the day before and then stay on a clear liquid diet until after it is over. Good luck!
Usually they give you something to drink (name just left me) but you can ask a Pharmacist and they can tell you.
You make sure someone is with you the day you go and that you won’t be left alone for 24 hours.
The procedure is very simple and it all depends on how well you handle being put under. I do well (alert), my husband (loopy as all get out for at least 3 days!!!!).

If he really wants your bowels clean, he should have given you a prescription for Visicol tablets and also detailed instructions for preparing for the exam. Send me your e-mail and I will send you instructions on what you need to do for prep. I had my first colonscopy in February 2006 and my husband has been having them regularly since 1977.
