How do I prevent diarrhea in new puppy?

I am adopting a 4 month old puppy and I know the stress of going to a new home could possibly cause diarrhea (that and I will also be slowly switching her food) … does anyone have any tips to avoid this? Are there foods I can give her to help? Some have suggested cottage cheese … what works best? Thanks!

Do the best you can with creating a low stress environment and keep plenty of chew toys readily available. Good luck.
Your puppy should be fine actually. Cooked white rice and hamburger is a very bland diet. And every time my dogs have loose stool I will give them that. And it helps, a lot.
So that’s what I suggest.
Diarrhea caused by viruses, bacterias, toxins, etc. Just like us, maintain the cleanliness in our environment, and in the food to be fed by your dog. Here’s more info:
