Your supposed to eat fiber. You can add some to you diet everyday. Also prunes and some herbal stuff helps. Don’t pay for outside procedures. Go natural.
Your colon cleans itself. Don’t fall prey to this scam about pounds of waste being stuck in there, it’s BS.
No, it is a worthless procedure.
A real doctor would never recommend it.
As an herbalist who has a bias, I would say this. If you have an impacted colon, you may benefit by irrigation, which is called colonics. And if you do not have a bowel movement once or twice a day, consider adding more fiber and fluid to your diet. Should these fail, consider using something to help your bowels move. There are a number of choices from western and chinese medicine.
The notion circulating that our colons have spackle on the lining which weighs twenty pounds is a false idea. The bacteria in our colons break down starches and the resulting sugars and polysaccharides could not pass into our blood streams if the colon was plastered up with stuff.
(The videos of colonoscopies may not be the best evidence, however, since they are administered after an enema.)
And we need to have the proper types of bacteria growing there or we may suffer from digestive upsets, excess weight, or allergic reactions. I believe in good colon health. But ignore this claim that is not supported by evidence.
Well it wont do any harm.
But on it’s own, yeah it’s pretty worthless.
If you saw a doctor about a colon cleanse they would tell you that it is a useless waste of money, that simply makes no sense. Basically its a scam.
From Wiki:
"No scientific evidence supports the alleged benefits of colon cleansing. The bowel itself is not dirty and barring drugs or disease, cleans itself naturally without need for assistance. Some types of colon cleansing present potential hazards; the equipment used during colon cleansing has caused damage to the rectum in a small number of individuals, and caused amoebiasis when improperly sterilized. Certain enema preparations have been associated with heart attacks and electrolyte imbalances. Frequent colon cleansing may interfere with the proper functioning of the colon and can lead to dependence on laxatives or enemas to defecate."
"Colon cleansing may disrupt the balance between bacteria and natural chemicals in the bowel, and may interfere with the colon’s ability to shed dead cells. Other rare but serious complications include gastrointestinal perforation from improper insertion, and amoebic infection from poorly sterilised equipment. Some colon cleansing regimes disrupt fluid and electrolyte balance which may lead to dehydration and salt depletion, whilst repeated or excessive cleansing programs can lead to anemia and malnutrition."

Also, its unnatural.
You do NOT need a colon cleanse. Actually it could be detrimental to mess with the colon’s bacterial flora. The whole idea of toxins building up in your colon and causing all disease or even fatigue is nonsense. There is nothing to suggest that colon cleanses are in any way helpful. Also, there are risks invovled in getting one. Sometimes the providers of this service do not properly clean their equipment. The process is also uncomfortable. This is a scam. While some providers may believe in their snake-oil there is no reason to believe their claims.
