I had a colonoscopy 2 days ago because of changes in bowels.No bleeding at all.My Dr found 3 polyps and removed them.I asked him right there and then if i had colon cancer.He said no and to check again in 5 yrs.
But he said he sent the polyps to be checked,i guess just as precaution?
How can he be sure i dont have cancer just by looking at polyps?
Im 50 and in good health?

I have been feeling very sluggish lately and have bowel movements once every two days. One of my friends suggested to cleanse my bowels but I am unsure how. How do I cleanse it naturally and keep healthy?

My 2 year old son tends to try to hold onto his bowels for several days at at time. We keep him hydrated, he eats fresh fruits & berries, prunes & pears, flax oil, and his pediatrician has prescribed lactulose (which he takes daily).
But even with all that, he will regularly not poop for 2 – 4 days at a time.
At what point — how many days — until should we be concerned and use a fleet enema?

This is a serious question: I now its not supposed to smell like roses, but how do you tell someone that their bowels smell like something crawled up them and died (for hours); and that they should look into getting their colon cleansed? It can actually be a serious health problem.

I am a 42 year old white female. A little overweight (about 50 lbs) and for about the last I have had trouble with my bowels. I am sometimes constipated and sometimes have real soft bowel movements. When I do have bowel movements they are soft and small. I was going to a doctor last spring that found out I had an intestional infection and we treated that then treated my indigestion and also tried to give me medicine to clean out my system since I had an intestional infection. I had told the doctor I wanted to have a colonoposy (however you spell that) but we never got to it. I got laid off from my job, can’t find a new one and have no insurance and only about half my income that I had before. I am really become concerned because I have just recently in the past couple weeks started bleeding when I have a bowel movement. I read about rectal cancer and it ALWAYS talks about weight loss, but I definately don’t have that problem. I’ve had a few people tell me it might be internal hemorriods. I would just go to a doctor but with no insurance and no money to pay them I don’t have any idea what to do and I’m really becoming worried. I am wondering if there is anyone out their that has had either or both of these and could give me some more symptoms….I have had external hemorriods when I was pregnant and this is nothing like that but figure internal ones are different.

Any advices suggestions or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Reason why I say this is im having health problems (im taking care of everything best I can with doctors and such) and pretty much every time I seem to get constipated and it gets too hard to go, so ive used oral laxatives and a bowel cleanser without it working so I assume everything would be pretty much broken down a lot before the clog, could your body absorb all this? Ive been using mineral oil enemas, I drank mineroil oil, all I did was crap it back out, The other night all I spent my time doing was crapping water out I have a discomfort in my right side and its been near 8 days without going a significant ammount but it just seems like with the stuff ive tooken its acting like my bowels are clear and I know they arn’t. Im going to go to the hospital here in a little bit but just wondering what you guys think. I have been eating high fibers and drinking water but when its been this long without going I hardly eat and drink, im trying to drink as much as I can and I have almost no urge to eat. Ive maybe aten a days worth of food in the past 3 or so days.
I went to the hospital a few weeks back because I thought it could be something wrong with my appendix at the time and they did xrays and such and said there is no sign of appendicitus but it could have been too early in the stage to tell. There could be tons of things causing this so its hard to pinpoint but I can’t wait to go to a gastronologist, im pretty sure its pretty bad when you havn’t gone normal in the month ive been sick and not a significant ammount in the past 8 days.
Yes juding by the times I have had to use enemas and such to go before its always seems to be feces getting impacted but its not coming out this time.
Will eating more fibers now help my current problem or only make it worse? I don’t want to get even more backed up.

I have IBS and my bowels are completely off, i’m always constipated and gassy. I eat enough fiber and drink tons of water.. i just need to get this out of the way. I hate being bloated and gassy all the time and i hate the frustration of not being able to go to the bathroom when i clearly need to.

So my question, which work better? Colon cleanses or colon probiotics? How long until they’re effective? Thanks

i have been struggling with irritable bowel syndrome for a week now. I was prescribed Levsin to help relax my bowels, Although I take the medication every four hours like i’m supposed to I still have trouble eating, I went for 4 days and did not eat. I finally ate and the first few times i didn’t have an attack, but i starting to have stomach pain after the last meal. Is there certain foods that are better for me to eat, or am I just going to have to deal with this the rest of my life! Please help me!

This is probably not a pleasant question, but I need answers. Lately I have been having problems moving my bowels, I did a fleet enema, and not only did it not work, I had horrible stomach cramps. When I do go, it seems kind of slimey, and not much. What can I take orally to help me go to the bathroom, prune juice does not help.
