What was your first attack of IBS like?
Mine was so severe…
Is it likely for IBS to hurt only on the left side of the abdomen?
And be present mild all the time, but severe sometimes?
And give a colic pain in the upper left abdomen, just below the stomach?

Has anyone tried an antidepressent that works for anxiety and is also for people who have IBS and GI problems? I’ve tried many like Zoloft and Lexapro and Buspar and they all basically killed my stomach then I was put on Remeron which has been helping with anxiety somewhat but has increased my appetite tremendously and I’m just gaining weight every day. Please I need advice.

I have IBS and for my friend’s birthday we’re all going out to Cheesecake Factory. I’ve never been there so I dont know how the food is. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any IBS friendly food i could eat.
I know its an individual thing obviously, I just would like some recommendations.

Being vegetarian and having IBS makes it harder not to have gluten - I previously relied on bready foods until I got IBS. Had to cut them out and eating has become very hard. I used to love food but its become a nightmare.
For lunch I usually have salad or soup, which works. But breakfast is more difficult. All I crave is toast or a nice vegey fry up but I’ve been having all bran which is depressingly boring.
Anyone got any advice?

I’ve been bloated for months cause of my IBS and my boobs feel bigger than they were. Can IBS bloating make your boobs bigger? and is it normal to be bloated all the time with IBS, and more bloated when you eat?

I try to cut out foods that aggravate my stomach but now and then I am in a lot of pain and get diarrhoea. I don’t know why this happens as it happens now and then for no reason. There is no link between each time it happens in regards to the foods I’m eating.
I cannot eat gluten, milk products (I drink Soya milk instead which causes no problems) or peanuts.
Is there anything I can take or drink to aid my IBS?

flatulence along with ocassional sour and sometimes only frothy burps, coupled with discomfort and occasional pain in the region between the navel and chest bone be a sign of malignancy ?
I have symptoms of IBS for over 10 years now. It comes on only with my periods. This time round it started with my last period and continued until the next one. Pain was severe on the first day of the second period.
A ultra sound in April showed nothing wrong. An endoscopy a couple of years back was normal too.
Stools are normal. There is no weight loss. Medicines are giving only temperory relief.

I have constant gas and frequent but intermittent stomach aches. I have not been officially diagnosed with IBS or any other disease, but I have not seen a doctor regarding my problem. I will probably go see one soon, since the problem has gotten worse over the last year. I don’t seem to have any trouble digesting any particular kind of food and I do not eat much dairy. I definitely am not lactose intolerant, but I can’t rule out a different food sensitivity. I do often eat vegetables, beans, and other common sources of gas, but not in huge amounts. What do you think is wrong? And is IBS merely a diagnosis of exclusion?
