I have been following a mainly vegetarian dietary lifestyle for the past 4 months and have felt wonderful. For the past 2 weeks I have been very ill with fever, severe back pain (kidneys) and muscle spasms. The symptoms are on and off again every 2 to 3 days. CT scan is normal. WBC fluctuates. Could this be a deep level detox due to my dietary changes?

I’ve been doing a little research on those colon cleansing kits and they seem like the way to go for a healthier system. I work out regularily & have begun eating better. These kits are believed to eliminate toxicity and waste from the body, reduce stress from our vital organs (liver, colon, kidneys, blood, skin, etc.) and support the rejuvenation of the immune system. This all sounds great, B U T…..EXPENSIVE!! I just wondered if anyone knew any safe home remedies that might work as well?

I can only anticipate that these bowel cleansers that are linked to end-stage renal disease or permanent kidney damage because Phosphor Milk and similar brands of cleaners can release as much as 30,000 mg of sodium when it passes into the stomach and through the kidneys. And you know what happens when too much salt too soon
goes into the kidneys….they end up permanently damaged…so much so that you face either dialysis, transplantation, death.
So I think it is the explosive salt content in those cleansers that led to this kidney damage. Am I right?
