I have not had a bowel movement in at least 8 days. Around fifth day i was having severe pains an took stimulant laxative stool softeners. Nothing happend. Next day still some abdominal pain did a fleet enema and still nothing. Also did a fleet supository and still no movement. While the pain is not as severe i have no urge or sensation of usin the bathroom what so ever.

I heard that after taking laxative, people will have to go to the toilet compulsory, they will not able to ignore the urge but how long they can suffer before they surrender and evacuate the stools? Does it depends on the dose of laxative?

Reason why I say this is im having health problems (im taking care of everything best I can with doctors and such) and pretty much every time I seem to get constipated and it gets too hard to go, so ive used oral laxatives and a bowel cleanser without it working so I assume everything would be pretty much broken down a lot before the clog, could your body absorb all this? Ive been using mineral oil enemas, I drank mineroil oil, all I did was crap it back out, The other night all I spent my time doing was crapping water out I have a discomfort in my right side and its been near 8 days without going a significant ammount but it just seems like with the stuff ive tooken its acting like my bowels are clear and I know they arn’t. Im going to go to the hospital here in a little bit but just wondering what you guys think. I have been eating high fibers and drinking water but when its been this long without going I hardly eat and drink, im trying to drink as much as I can and I have almost no urge to eat. Ive maybe aten a days worth of food in the past 3 or so days.
I went to the hospital a few weeks back because I thought it could be something wrong with my appendix at the time and they did xrays and such and said there is no sign of appendicitus but it could have been too early in the stage to tell. There could be tons of things causing this so its hard to pinpoint but I can’t wait to go to a gastronologist, im pretty sure its pretty bad when you havn’t gone normal in the month ive been sick and not a significant ammount in the past 8 days.
Yes juding by the times I have had to use enemas and such to go before its always seems to be feces getting impacted but its not coming out this time.
Will eating more fibers now help my current problem or only make it worse? I don’t want to get even more backed up.

i had surgery 5 days ago and ended gonig to my doctor today because of extreme pain. im very consipated and he told me to buy the fleet enema . so i did it and i passed two bowel movements but it wasnt very much. he also had me drink half a bottle of magnesium citrate. my stomach hurts but i dont feel the urge to go to the bathroom. if i keep drinking lots of water should i start passing more poop sorry for being so gross i just never realize how much pain constipation can be. has this happened to you and did you start passing more in a few days. i was in so much pain last night that i was crying . i aslo took 3 table spoons of milk of magnisa and a stool softener

Haven’t had a bm in a week. Going to take enema tonight like the doctor at the ER suggested before going to the hospital.
I’m totally freaked! I’m scared of having severe diarrhea all night long!

How bad is the urge? How bad is the … "Effect"? And how long should it last?

I had my wisdom teeth removed last Monday and I have been on hydrocodone until today, which I assume is what has been causing my constipation. I’ve only had maybe 1 bowel movement since then.

Yesterday, at around noon, I had the urge to have one, and it was excruciatingly painful and completely unsuccessful – it was hard and um…became ‘stuck’ for a few hours and I was basically stranded in my bathroom.

My roommate brought me some Walgreens Easy-Lax stool softener and I took them, and I have very slowly been able to at least get small amounts of ‘runny’ matter out (usually a few drops every hour or so).

My body managed to get the ‘stuck’ piece to go back in (gross…I know), so I can at least function normally now although I am very uncomfortable. I did a bit of searching online and read that "Peri-Colace" is more effective, so I went and bought some and took 3 tablets about an hour ago. They box says it takes between 6-12 hours to produce a bowel movement.

I researched fleet enemas a bit too, and after reading about them, I am considering just going out and buying one of those because of how frustrated I am (I really want instant relief), but I am worried, since I have the Peri-Colace is already in my system. Is this going to mess anything up? Should I wait it out first?

for the last while i have been cramping up when i have feel the need to have a bowel movement sometimes i am a little constipated, but last night my husband vomited once and that was it i woke up this morning with the urge to make a bowel movement and i went and then a little while ago it was almost like there was clear mucous and soft, what could this be? diarrhea??

The doctor said to take a fleet enema two days in a row. I am on day 2. I took it and had the urge to go but all that happened was that the enema came out. Did I do something wrong.

OK, when you are sitting in a classroom and you feel the urge to pass gas but you clinch your cheeks and in a few seconds the urge disappears, where did it go? It didn’t come out because it doesn’t stink, it isn’t still there because I would feel it. Where does it go?

I have been taking bowtrol for about a week now. I am taking 8 pills a night now. I have diarrea and painful bowel movement now. I have the urge to use the bathroom 2 or 3 times in the morning with very little resultes. I didn’t have it before I started the pills. I work out everyday for 40 minutes and I eat a healthy diet. I’m I just being impatient. Do I need to give it more time? Help.
